I am in my fourth year as Principal at WHS and my fifteenth year in Wimberley ISD. Our goal at WHS is to ensure a positive, challenging and safe learning environment for all students. We will provide a quality education ensuring our students will be prepared for post secondary learning while becoming productive citizens in our evolving society.
I made the decision to go into education while attending and subsequently graduating from Needville High School. My desire to work in education continued during my undergraduate studies at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. I graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Studies with a Biology Minor; I earned a Masters Degree in Education in 2000 and an Educational Administration Certification in 2002 from Tarleton as well. Before coming to Wimberley, I served as a science teacher and a coach at Glen Rose Junior High for four years. I then moved to Wimberley where I spent the first four years teaching biology and coaching football, powerlifting, and track at the high school. I worked as the Assistant Principal at WJHS in 2006-2007, HS Assistant Principal in 07-08, JH Principal from 2008 – 2014 and now WHS Principal. When not in school, I love to spend time with my wife, Carrie, our twelve-year old daughter Claire and our six-year old daughter Josie. I appreciate and look forward to working with the students, parents, and faculty of Wimberley High School.
