Darelle Jordan has been a school nurse for Wimberley
ISD since spring of 1997. A native Floridian and dyed in
the sand beachcomber Nurse Jordan received her fist
nursing degree from Jacksonville Junior College in 1979.
After working for several years as a R.N. hospital nurse
she moved to Texas to attend the University of Texas at
Austin where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science
in Nursing in 1988.
She is married to Richard Jordan a local business owner.
They are parents of Eliza a Wimberley High School graduate
who is now working at Seattle Children's Hospital, James Paul a WHS
graduate currently volunteering for AmeriCorps FEMA in Baltimore Maryland and Amelia a 8th grader at Danforth Junior High who
plays clarinet for the 8th grade band, loves art and is a football team student trainer.
In addition to school nurse duties at the Junior and Senior
High School Nurse Jordan is the Wimberley ISD District
Nurse and supervises nursing services on all campuses
and chairs the Student Health Advisory Council/Wellness Team.
If you ask her how she likes working at WISD she says she
has the “best job in the school district” and “while some days
are tougher than others, she has loved every day of her 34
years being a nurse.”
