My name is Carey Soderstrom, formerly Carey Clayton; I’ve been with Wimberley ISD at the high school since 2001, and in teaching since 1985. Before joining WISD, I taught at Edinburg High School, Smithson Valley High School, and Hays High School, as well as for Austin Community College and the University of Texas at Pan American. During my years with WISD, I’ve taught English at grades 9-12, and I am currently the Instructional Strategist/Assistant Principal in charge of textbooks, assisting with special programs (504, GT, ESL, Special Education) and curriculum support. I have a Bachelor’s degree in English/Biology from Texas State University, a Master’s degree in English from the University of Texas at Pan American, and a Master’s degree in Teacher Leadership/Curriculum from Lamar University.
I am proud to be associated with WISD; our faculty and staff are dedicated and caring, and our students are polite, creative, intelligent, and delightful to be around.
