Wimberley HS will be moving in a different direction in the 2017-2018 school year for instructional technology. The iPads have served our students well, however we believe that we can better serve the academic needs of our students with Chromebooks. The Seniors of 2017 piloted the use of Chromebooks this year. Feedback from students and parents reported a positive impact on academics and workflow. Beginning in August, WHS 9-12th grade students will be issued a Chromebook. This transition will also allow WISD to move away from the “insurance policy” and into a reasonable, $20 yearly technology usage fee for each student. The faculty and staff at WHS are excited about the transition and look forward to the opportunity this presents. We will post more details soon including new and returning student registration dates for the 2017-2018 school year.
